Requirements for Canada Federal Skilled Trade Visa

The Federal Skilled Trades Program was implemented keeping in mind those individuals who aspire to be permanent residents of Canada with the help of their skill trade qualification.

The Requirements or Eligibility criteria to be met for Canada Federal Skilled Trade Visa

• Should have a  minimum two years of full- time work experience in an eligible skilled Trade
• Should meet minimum language levels in French or English
• Should have an  offer of full-time employment for total of minimum one year
• Should have a certificate of qualification for your skilled trade issued by a territory or province

Ontario has Express Entry stream referred as Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program that is specific to that province, you must choose to live in Ontario. 

If you plan to live in Quebec, then you can apply for Quebec –Selected Skilled Worker application Process. 

Your work experience should be in a trade that is part of Skill Level B in the Canadian National Occupational Classification (NOC). The work experience should be during the last 5 years. 

If you are eligible to apply under the FST category, you may require to submit your profile to Express Entry program. The Canada Express Entry System is a new online application system designed specifically for Economic immigration categories such as the FSTP.
